The site: command is the simplest way to quickly check if a given URL is in Google’s index.
The site: command allows you to check if any URLs are indexed by Google on a given domain. It returns a list of all the pages that Google has indexed that meet your search criteria, along with their ranks and other information.
To use the site: command, enter it into the search box on google.com or in Google Search Console (GSC). For example, if you want to see which pages from your website appear in Google’s index, type “site:www.examplewebsite.com”. If you want to see which pages from a specific folder in your website appear in the index, type “site:www.examplewebsite.com/folder”.
The robots.txt is for controlling and optimizing crawling while no-index tags are for keeping pages out of Google’s index.
First, let’s talk about what a robots.txt file is: it’s a text file that you place in your website’s root directory that tells search engine crawlers how to behave on your site. The robots.txt file is an effective way to tell the crawlers which parts of your site should be indexed and which shouldn’t. If a page or part of a page isn’t listed in the robots.txt file, then it will be crawled by search engines like Google or Bing.

XML sitemap: It is a file which contains all the information about your website. This file is used to let Google know about the pages of your site and their importance.
Indexing and crawling: Indexing means that Google has started to crawl through your site and make it searchable, while crawling means that Google has started to fetch those results.
URL Structure: It refers to how you have structured your URLs on the web. It should be easy for users to find what they are searching for.
SSL (Secure Sockets Layers): SSL is a protocol that encrypts communications between browsers and websites, making them more secure.
Mobile-friendly interface: Mobile-friendly websites are optimized for mobile devices, thus making them easier to view from smartphones and tablets.
Site speed: Site speed refers to how fast or slow your website loads on a user’s device.

If you are having trouble with indexing and crawling, there are a couple of plugins that can help.
The first thing you should do is get a coverage report for your website from Google Search Console. This will give you a detailed report on the pages that could not be indexed. Then run Screaming Frog, a well-known plugin that crawls your site and gives out the best results. If you want to do it yourself, run Ahrefs SEO Audit tool and get a detailed audit of your website with other SEO tools.
